1 – YOUR BUSINESS TIP

Today we’re looking at delivery, box 6 on our 9 box model.

While everyone seems to understand the importance of getting customers and clients (i.e. making sales) – too many don’t focus enough on client retention. And you know how much effort it takes to GET a client . . . surely it’s only sensible to balance that focus with RETAINING them too? And that is all about ‘delivery’ which wraps up the central pillar, pillar 2 on our 3 pillar, 9 box model. The central pillar is all about YOUR BUSINESS – the marketing, sales and delivery that happens. What you get paid for.

Here are two phrases to keep in mind when you’re looking at what you deliver to clients, what you get paid for:

  1. Managing Expectations – yours and theirs – right from the start and ongoing.
  2. Consistency

Solution:

Getting those 2 things right – which means getting crystal clear on what that means in your business – is vital for creating ‘raving fans’. They are clients who pay, stay, and say great things about you to others.

The first thing to do is to write down these questions, answer them honestly! This will help you see where you can improve on your delivery.

Ready? Here are your questions:

  1. WHAT do you deliver to your clients?
  2. WHAT do you get paid for?
  3. Do you deliver your products/services ONLINE/OFFLINE or BOTH?
  4. What is your post-sales service or follow up/keep in touch routine?

Tips:

  • Under promise and over deliver – so after setting expectations – exceed them and ‘wow!’ your clients.
  • Think of what your CNEs could be ‘Critical Non-Essentials’. With huge thanks to the wonderful Australian dentist Paddi Lund for this. He’s the man who said ‘these are things that might not be essential for you to do but they are critical to you to be memorable for all the right reasons’. Check out his books too.

2 – YOUR MARKETING/LINKEDIN TIP

The post I want to share with you today is golden.

It’s one of those things that I like to print out and keep as a reminder in front of me.

And if you are trying to take content creation seriously, you might want to do the same.

Here it is:

Solution:

I agree 100% with Tara.

Thinking and planning your content is not where you’ll find your best ideas.

It’s also not where you’ll create new business opportunities.

Actually writing and creating is how you’ll do it.

So, take this as a sign to start creating right away.
